The majority of lion hunters in Africa are American, and the USA is the largest importer of lions and lion parts.

I have been in contact with Chris Mercer of CACH – Campaign Against Canned Hunting. This listing of lions as an Endangered Species in the USA is one of his key recommendations.

I like the CACH policy of compiling a list of “ethical” travel agents (to be on their website), and for encouraging volunteers and tourists to South Africa to avoid “lion farms” disguised as “wildlife sanctuaries” that offer cub petting, Walks with Lions, and in many cases hunting and killing lions.
